More art lol

Update

I loved this flower. Watercolor background on #fabriano #hotpresswatercolorpaper. The design is in #bicballpointpen. Once I tried to #watercolor it it went in the garbage. I'm not so great with hot press watercolor paper. 

Below you see my #practice of #transparent watercolor. 

This is on #arches140lbcoldpresswayetcolorpaper. Muuuuuchhhhhh better results. 

The inspiration for this came from a tutorial by #jayleewatercolorpainting on #youtube. He did #flowers. 

Here is the second one. Larger this time. 

These will make great #giftcards, #notecards or even #postcards as the are mounted on #mountboard.

TADA! I seem to have a 'thing' for #circles lately. #mixedmedia #pencil #drawing with #watercolor #limitedpallet of #pink and #magenta . Various #shades of each. I also used #salt snd #plasticwrap fot #texture in places. This #originaldesign is on #archeswatercolorpaper and is #outlined wirh #glittergelpen . I think I like this one better than the #blue one as I had better #brushcontrol resulting in circles that are more #perfectlyround .

Yesterday's

Today I had to move my #painting station to make room for another piece of furniture. As a result not much time for actual painting itself. But I did do this little #abstract on #archeswatercolorpaper .

I usually take my failed #watercolor paintings and cut them up to make my hand written #businesscards . However #cottonwatercolorpaper is expensive, so I have decided to do some #recycling . I went through my stack of #falsestarts and pulled out the good paper to paint on the backside. Turns out I have more paper than I thought lol. Then I cut them into #halfsheets . Thus the #smallformat . 

I could not think of a thing to paint, I'm sure many of you have encountered that same issue. So I just drew some random shapes. This is the result. Small, but I think it makes a statement. 

After it was completed I outlined it with #glittergelpen and glued to #mountboard . I am happy with this little #artwork and at least I did do some painting today!

I also jazzed up my palette. I'll post those results a little later on. I just looked at the clock I cannot believe this day has flown by. Oh my!

I also modified my watercolor palette .  I was constantly frustrated by not enough wells for my colors. So I emptied out a cheap watercolor sets wells (an extremely messy proposition) and then took glue dots and attached them. 

This palette came with a water-tight locking lid and mixing tray.  So I have plenty of space for mixing. It was more convenient to mix in the center where the new wells are at least I have everything at my fingertips. I think eventually I will get a new palette but this works well enough.

Latest watercolor work.

Playing with #watercolor on #archeswatercolorpaper today. Not a lot of #inspiration so I just went with #circles . #limitedpallet of #blues only. Might try just one blue next time. I think I will #outline it also.

Yesterday, after finishing my #circle #watercolor , I did a small #notecard 's #graytone watercolor #background with #salt for #texture . Then I did an #intuitive #freehand #plant - like #form in #black #bicballpointpen . Forgot to take progress shots unfortunately. But here is the completed piece. I watercolored it this morning. It measures 6 3/4 in x 4 3/4 in and it a single sheet. No fold, like a #postcard .

I am really enjoying the little note cards!  

So I also did some backgrounds for them.  First gray and magenta with salt. 

Then two blue tones with plastic wrap. 

Now to draw designs on them. They will have envelopes and be for sale on my facebook page. If I ever get around to the listings. Very time consuming job those listings, especially on my phone.

MAN I LOVE HOW THESE COLORS POP! I don't care what anybody says I love my prisma color pencils!!!

I decided to try to make my own #graytonepaper again. I just love how certain #colors #pop against the #gray .

This time I wasn't interested in doing a #gradient . I intentionally went for a #mottled and #textured look. Intentional #backwashes and #blooms in the #watercolor #paint . No #bombayindiaink or #irridescent additive this time. I didn't want to make the paper too slick where it would not accept the #colorpencil .  

I then took a #ruler and a #black #bicballpointpen and started making #angles . Trying to deliberately and #intuitively not use any #flowy #lines ...#abstractart to the #maximum . Breaking out if my #comfortlevel a little. I just couldn't resist one #circle though. 

Next I will be adding #prismacolor and maybe some #gelinkpen .
